Microneedling
Smoother, Firmer Skin That Comes From Within
Microneedling with PRF at NYA Med Spa is one of those treatments that simply works. We use a medical grade device with tiny, sterile needles to create very small, controlled channels in your skin. Your body's immediate response is to ramp up healing, sending fresh collagen and elastin to the area.
To take results even further, we pair the treatment with PRF, or platelet rich fibrin, drawn from your own blood. Applied during your session, PRF floods those tiny channels with your body's own growth factors to amplify healing and collagen production. The result over the following weeks is skin that is tighter, smoother, and more even. It is a favorite for fine lines, acne scars, large pores, stretch marks, and overall texture concerns.
What Happens During a Microneedling Session
Your appointment at our Grand Rapids location starts with a thorough cleanse and a topical numbing cream so you are comfortable. If you are adding PRF, we draw a small sample of your blood and spin it down to concentrate the platelet rich fibrin. Once you are ready, we glide the microneedling device across the treatment area in steady, even passes and apply the PRF so it absorbs into the freshly created channels. The whole treatment takes about thirty to forty five minutes for the face.
Afterward your skin will look pink, similar to a mild sunburn, and that flushing fades over twenty four to forty eight hours. Most clients see real change after a series of three to four sessions spaced about a month apart.

Why microneedling with PRF is one of our most consistently requested treatments in Grand Rapids.

Does microneedling hurt?
With numbing cream applied beforehand, most clients describe it as a mild scratching or vibration. Some areas like the forehead can feel a little more intense.
How long is the recovery?
Most people are pink for twenty four hours and feel completely back to normal within two to three days. You can wear makeup again the next day.
How many sessions will I need?
For most concerns we recommend a series of three to four sessions about a month apart, with occasional maintenance sessions after that.
What is PRF and why add it?
PRF, or platelet rich fibrin, is concentrated from a small sample of your own blood. Applied during microneedling, it delivers your body's own growth factors into the skin to boost healing, collagen production, and overall results.
